Fantastic news today as children with leukaemia will be able to access CAR-T therapy on the NHS. The CAR-T cells in this pilot have been derived from peripheral blood. Groups are working on the same process using CAR-T cells from umbilical cord blood, a non-invasive source of therapeutic cells. Biovault’s Shaun Mansfield, a stem cell scientist specialising in umbilical cord cells says: “We’re delighted at this step forward in cell-based therapies.”
Covid 19 – We are fully operational during this time, taking calls 8am-8pm 7 days a week.
